Ian Curnow – Chiropractor

Ian Curnow established Tweed Coast Chiropractic in 2000 to offer Tweed Heads and Kingscliff chiropractic care.
He gained his chiropractic degree at Macquarie University and spent many years practicing in Sydney before returning home to Kingscliff to establish the clinic in Chinderah.
Ian has post graduate qualifications in rehabilitation, and as a result, has a strong interest in rehabilitation and evidence based practice. Rehabilitation may involve a variety of techniques including:
- Adjustments (diversified)
- Soft tissue therapies (massage, trigger point, myofacial release)
- Active release technique
- Specialised exercises
- Gait and running analysis
- Shock wave therapy
The goal of this approach is to help the individual via hands-on treatment and appropriate self mangement. Ian provides individual specific care based on the age and health of the patient.

Ashlee is originally from Bendigo, Victoria and attended Macquarie University to complete her Chiropractic degree.
She came to work at our Chinderah practice servicing the needs of patients from Tweed Heads to Byron Bay, after living in Sydney for 10 years
Ashlee has a number of years’ experience practicing in a multidisciplinary clinic in Sydney in addition to working as a Rehabilitation Advisor in CTP claims. Her focus is on delivering evidence-based care and tailoring treatment to the individual, ensuring she delivers a personalized, caring approach.
Ashlee incorporates many techniques into her treatments including:
- Diversified-style adjusting
- Drop piece
- Dry needling
- Various soft tissue techniques
Since graduating, Ashlee has attended a wide range of seminars on manual therapy techniques, injury management, paediatrics and functional movement. Having a strong interest in functional rehabilitation, Ashlee is passionate about helping others.
Ashlee enjoys the beautiful Tweed coast as she loves the beach and spending time outdoors.

Johnathon Dao has been in clinical practice for 23 years practicing and teaching oriental medicine. Traditional oriental medicine aims at treating the whole body and not just the disease so that when the body is in balance the cause/disease can be managed.

Matthew Pope – chiropractor
Matthew Pope returns to Tweed Coast Chiropractic after previously having worked at the clinic from 2013 to 2016. In this time, Matthew has worked for Work Healthy Australia, where he continues Monday to Friday, which involves treating patients within their workplace.Matthew brings with him a passion for workplace injuries, as well as treating every day complaints, sports injuries, lifestyle injuries. Like all our chiropractors here, Matthew looks not just to mask the pain of an injury but to address and rehabilitate the underlying cause of the problem.
Matthew has also worked as sports trainer with local rugby league and netball teams. Matthew is involved in Kingscliff Swimming Club where he is the vice president of the board. Matthew uses a variety of adjusting techniques:
